Oh how I LOVE the gym....

So now that I am so close to losing 100 lbs I am trying to get myself into overdrive mode. The last 4 months have been slow with my weight loss and now I need to pick up the slack and get moving.

I started the gym again for the first time in about 6 months. Yeah, I went here and there since then but nothing steady, nothing that will actually make a difference. Yesterday started day 1 of my new plan. I don't like doing cardio that much but I will do it for a warm up. And forget about running on the treadmill, I am one of those people that you will see falling on their head so I would like to limit myself to embarrasing moments. So after I went crazy on the eliptical machine for about 15 minutes I headed over to the weight section. Oh how I love lifting weights.

Building muscle mass is the best thing that you can do for your body. The more muscle mass you have, the more calories your body will burn at a resting rate. And for all of you women out there that worry about being too "bulky" that is just a myth. The only way you will start to look butch when lifting weights is if you take steroids while lifting. Your body will only build what it is capable of holding which will be different for everyone. So get out there and lift weights!

So close.. yet so far

I've been on Weight Watchers for about 15 months and have lost 96.6 lbs. I'm so close to hitting the 100lb mark which is such a HUGE accomplishment but at the same time I have about another 50 more lbs to lose before I am at my goal weight. I've decided that it's time to put this into overdrive and get my ass to the gym 5 days a week for the next 5 months until I am at goal weight. Let the games begin....
